Mud Factor 2019

Mud Factor 2019
This was my first official 5K run! I was very excited. I went with my friend Nitza who was more seasoned in running 5K's than I was, but we had a blast! All-in-all, I think I did a good job keeping a good pace. I'm not normally one to like getting dirty, but this was the exception!

When I Decided...

I've always wanted to participate in 5K runs and made the decision last year to complete a mud run with a good friends. As the time got closer and closer, I was starting to get nervous. I questioned myself many times.  Was I good enough to do this? Would I be able to actually RUN? I need to be more prepared for this!  I've never thought of myself as an athlete or physically capable to doing anything like this. I finally decided to take the plunge and go for it. I would only do it if I was running with someone else. My husband didn't want to do it with me, but my friends were interested.  In preparation,  I went on walks at the park with my husband and dogs. Then eventually worked my way up to jogging. I never thought that I would be able to push myself into jogging. Turns out, I actually enjoy it! If anyone knows me, they know that I am not confident in myself. I'm very hard on myself and feel like nothing that I do is going to make much of a differe...

I Might do a 10K Run...What?

My friend and I have been talking about possibly completing a 10K (6 miles) run in February. I am kind of hesitant about this because I've only done 5K's up to this point (not too many either). I told her that I'd have to get back to her on that one. If I do decide to do it, I'll definitely have to get to work on exercising more frequently. If you have any suggestions about what to do to prepare for a 10K in the cold weather, please leave a comment below. Anyway, she told me that it would probably be best to exercise in the cold weather, which I've done before and it's not too fun. I think I'd like to try the 10K and maybe join a gym to get started and then work my way to the great outdoors.
